“My mom really likes the care center because the activities that are provided. One of the things my mom really enjoys, and I’ve noticed it too, is the staff at Kittanning Care is the tender loving care and compassion. And it's genuine. They don’t just say they care, they prove it with everything that they do here at the care center. All the staff — aids, nurses, administrators, all the personnel — just really prove their tender loving care. As a son taking care of his mom at Kittanning Care Center, that means a lot. One of the biggest ways mom has improved at Kittanning Care Center is through their Therapy Department. When my mom care here, she had fallen and fractured her back, and we were told she would never walk again. And Kittanning Care Center Therapy got her back on her feet when we didn’t think it was possible. So they just worked with her and worked with her and gained some mobility back on her own feet for a while, and it was just great for our family because we were told that would never happen again. She loves the activities... she looks forward to the birthday parties they have... church service — that’s a big one for my mom — church was always a big part of my mom’s life. And it brings back a lot of what she used to have. That makes a big difference in her whole attitude and keeps her going. My mom’s favorite thing about Kittanning Care Center is having her son visit her!”
“Well, we just recently made that decision to let him going into the Memory Center because it was receommended because they had more activities. When I came in here, I noticed first the sunshine coming in the windows. No matter where I went, I noticed in every room there was a window. I liked that idea. And then there was the courtyards, and the how the sun came through the dining room. Everything just seemed to be brighter and cleaner. It made me feel good that maybe this is the place that the Lord wanted me to bring my husband. It was close, there was another reason to be have made -- it was closest. I mean there other ones that were close, but this is the one that made me feel good. I was thinking I’ve been here several times to eat lunch, and the food is tremendous, it’s really good. I really like the food. I can always get a question answered no matter what the question is. They will send me to whoever it is that will answer it. They’re just very patient and I really... I think we’re in the right place. We all decided, well all of my children had six children, they all came to the meeting and we all decided to unanimously that we would try this memory unit for him. And I think this is going to be a good move for him.”
